First things first.  You’re going to need a place to store and ferment your first batch of mead.  This is easy and quite affordable.

Most grocery stores have some kind of apple juice or apple cider sold in a one gallon glass container.  The price we paid was $8.99 for the whole package.  Another way to think of this is that we paid $8.99 for apple cider and got the glass container for free.

You could start with just one, but it’s probably best to get two.  One year after beginning our mead journey we have about twelve in our kitchen.  I have no doubt there will be more in the future.
